Everything You Need to Know About Ultrasonic Cleaning
Welcome to the Ultrasonics Engineering FAQ page. Here you will find clear, honest answers to the most common questions about our ultrasonic cleaning systems, products, and services. If you can’t find what you’re looking for, call us directly — our team is available Monday to Saturday, 7am to 9pm.
How do industrial ultrasonic cleaning systems work?
Ultrasonic cleaning generates high-frequency sound waves through a cleaning solution, creating millions of microscopic bubbles in a process called cavitation. These bubbles implode with great force, lifting dirt, grease, rust, and contaminants from every surface — including internal passages and complex geometries — without abrasive scrubbing or harsh chemicals.
What size tank do I need?
Tank size depends on the dimensions of your parts and your production volume. We offer tanks from 80 litres for small precision components up to 5000 litres for large engine blocks and heavy industrial equipment. Call us and we’ll help you determine the right solution for your specific application.
Are your machines safe for delicate metal parts?
Yes. Our industrial ultrasonic cleaning equipment is designed to clean without causing surface damage. Unlike abrasive blasting or harsh chemical baths, ultrasonic cavitation is gentle on the base material while being highly effective at removing contaminants. It is widely used in precision engineering, aerospace, and medical laboratory applications where component integrity is critical.
Can I test before I buy?
Absolutely. We strongly recommend it. We have machines installed in each state and can direct you to a nearby workshop to see the cleaning results in person before committing to a purchase. Call Peter on 0428 407 748 to arrange this.
What warranty do you offer?
All machines come with a detailed 12-month unlimited warranty covering electronics, pumps, and heaters. Please note: use of any cleaning fluid other than our specified solution will void warranty conditions.
I have a faulty product — who do I contact?
Contact Peter Cochrane directly. Call 0428 407 748 — phone lines are open 7am to 9pm, seven days. We carry a complete range of spare parts including generators, pumps, and fluids, and we’ll walk you through any issue personally.
What products and sizes do you offer?
We offer a full range of large industrial cleaning tanks for heavy applications, as well as smaller baths for cleaning fuel injectors, diesel pumps, and precision components. Custom-built tanks are available to any specification — contact us to discuss your requirements.
What cleaning solution do you supply?
Our tanks are delivered complete and ready to use — plug and play. All fluids are included and last up to 12 months. Our biochemical cleaning solution is safe on alloys and cast iron, effective on carbon, grease, and oxidation, and environmentally responsible to dispose of.
Why choose Ultrasonics Engineering over other brands?
Unlike many manufacturers using cheap ceramic disc transducers that break and last only a year, we use premium-quality piezoelectric ceramic billet transducers for maximum power output and longevity. Combined with our pulse sweep technology, the cleaning effect of our baths is unmatched by anything else on the market. We challenge any competitor to a side-by- side demonstration — and we always win.
What are your opening hours?
